Why Do Beautiful Japanese Students Always Wear Short Skirts?

Why Do Beautiful Japanese Students Always Wear Short Skirts?

Most schools in Japan have their own "seifuku" (school uniform), and particularly the girls' uniforms have evolved to have various unique styles.

One remarkable feature of school uniforms is the shortness of their skirts.

The culture of wearing short skirts began when the Gyaru culture became a trend in the 1990s, influenced by the legendary Japanese pop star Namie Amuro, who wore super short skirts, thin eyebrows, and bleached hair.

Schoolgirls adopted this style with their school uniforms and started making their skirts shorter.

How do they do it? It's easy.

Basically, there are three ways:

Cut!

Fold the waistband upwards.

Use a "skirt belt."

However, cutting the skirt is risky because there are sometimes random checks conducted at schools.

If you're caught with a skirt shorter than the allowed length, you will be punished.

Therefore, folding the waistband and using a skirt belt are safer and more commonly seen methods.

Here is a video that introduces how to use a skirt belt.

It's very easy! Fold the waistband inwards to keep the pleats neat, and pull the belt with the skirt to make it short enough for you.

Ta-da! That's it!
