Kuma is a former Shichibukai who volunteered himself to be an experimental object by Vegapunk by turning him into a robotic weapon.

Pacifista is a robotic weapon in the form of Kuma created by Vegapunk, because he feels the loss of his father Bonney feels he has to kill Vegapunk

Bonney continues his journey with Luffy, Jinbe, and Chopper to explore EggHead island.

Bonney and Jinbei discuss about Kuma and also Vegapunk, where Bonney feels that Vegapunk is very evil for turning his father into a robot.

Bonney also tells Jibe about what he knows about Dr. Vegapunk, Bonney reveals that Dr. Vegapunk is actually an evil scientist.

Bonney thinks that he made Kuma an experimental object not because of orders from the World Government but because of his will.

Besides that, Bonny also got some information about Vegapunk from his father Kuma that the scientist actually has a special race.

Where in the One Piece manga there are several special races such as the Mink tribe, tida eyes, giants, fishmen, Lunarians, and so on.

In his conversation with Jinbei, Bonney did not mention specifically about the special race he was referring to.
