Demon Slayer: Can You Master More Than One Breathing Style?

Demon Slayer: Can You Master More Than One Breathing Style?

In the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba series, Breathing Styles is a very extraordinary and powerful sword technique that must be possessed by demon Slayers who have the Nichirin sword.

It takes a long time for a person to master their Breathing Style and then blend in with their various signature techniques.

Each demon slayer has their own one Breathing Style, which they usually master to a much higher degree.

However, fans themselves are still curious whether a demon slayer can possess or master more than one Breathing Technique.

And how then the effect that will be caused.

So far, the only known demon slayer or demon slayer swordsman capable of mastering more than one Breathing Styles is Tanjiro Kamado, the main protagonist of the series.

Tanjiro is known to master two Breathing Techniques.

Interestingly, Tanjiro started it all without knowing the slightest bit about Breathing Techniques.

In fact, he didn't even have a sword base at all.

After being asked by Giyu Tomioka, Urokodaki Sakonji, former Water Hashira, finally agrees to train Tanjiro and then teach him Water Breathing.

However, as the story progresses, Tanjiro begins to learn a lot of information about his ancestors, including about the ritual dances they have been doing.

As it turned out, the ritual dance performed was similar in movement to the Sun Breathing Style.

At the beginning of the series itself, Urokodaki Sakonji had said that it was not impossible for a demon slayer to be able to master or use several Breathing Styles at once in their battle.

However, it is very rare for a demon slayer to be able to do it. In fact, you could say almost no one like it.

In addition, a person who wants to be able to master several Breathing Styles must be a user of the Sun Breathing technique, where Sun Breathing itself is the forerunner to the emergence of other Breathing Styles such as Water Breathing Style, Flower Breathing Style, and so on.

Based on that explanation, it's only natural that Tanjiro would be able to use two Breathing Styles, because his family has been using the Sun Breathing Style for a long time.

In the Entertainment District arc, when Tanjiro is shown to be completely exhausted, Tanjiro then combines the two Breathing Styles he has mastered to save Hinatsuru from the Upper Six's clutches. This moment then makes Tanjiro the only demon slayer who is able to combine two Breathing Styles at once.

Demon Slayer: Can You Master More Than One Breathing Style?

There was a reason why only Sun Breathing users were able to master more than one Breathing Style. Sun Breathing is a very difficult Breathing Style to master.

It takes tremendous effort and also special abilities to be able to handle its enormous power.

Those who are able and have mastered Sun Breathing will be able to make other Breathing Styles very deadly.

Besides Tanjiro, Hashira are also known to be very strong figures to be able to use more than one Breathing Style very easily.

Even so, they are always shown using only one Breathing Style.

So, in conclusion, a demon slayer can master more than one Breathing Style.

However, there are a few things to note about this.

Apart from being very rarely able to do it, someone who wants to master more than one Breathing Style must also previously master the Sun Breathing Style.
