One Piece Netflix Leaks: Crocodile is Revealed to Be a Woman!

The mysterious woman who appeared during Gold Roger's execution in the One Piece live-action series is likely Crocodile. 

After much anticipation from fans, the One Piece live-action series, which premiered on Netflix on August 31st, finally revealed an interesting twist – the true identity of the enigmatic woman who appeared during Gold Roger's execution in the first episode.

The Appearance of the Mysterious Woman

The One Piece live-action series is set to air approximately eight episodes for its first season, adapting the East Blue Saga, which is the beginning of the One Piece story where the Straw Hat crew is first formed. 

Monkey D. Luffy first encounters the initial members of the Straw Hat crew: Nami, Zoro, Usopp, and Sanji. 

They will also face formidable and intriguing foes at the start of their adventure.

What's intriguing is that the East Blue Saga also portrays the execution of Gol D. Roger in Loguetown. 

The execution was attended by nearly all the notorious pirates known in the One Piece world. 

In the manga, it's known that several figures witnessed Roger's execution, including Shanks, Monkey D. Dragon, Mihawk, Doflamingo, and Crocodile.

This scene was also recreated in the first episode of the One Piece live-action series. 

As Roger was about to be executed by the Marines, the camera revealed some familiar faces among the onlookers – Dracule Mihawk, a young Shanks, and a dark-skinned woman. 

This has raised a significant question among fans: Who is the mysterious woman who appeared during Roger's execution?

It's known that the live-action series has introduced some changes in the story's details, although it remains faithful to the original source material. 

If that's the case, the big question now is whether this mysterious woman is a newly created character specifically for the Netflix and Oda's series or if she's an established character from the One Piece lore.

The Woman is Crocodile

So far, in both the manga and the anime, there hasn't been a significant female character in any storyline, be it the main story or filler, who matches the characteristics of the mysterious woman in the One Piece live-action series scene. 

This has led to speculation – and bolstered long-standing fan theories – that the mysterious woman in the One Piece live-action series is indeed Crocodile.

As mentioned above, in the manga, it's known that the pirates who witnessed Roger's execution and later appeared in the main story were Mihawk, Doflamingo, Dragon, and Crocodile. 

In the first episode, we've already seen a young Shanks and Mihawk, but there's no sight of a young Doflamingo. 

This means that Crocodile is the remaining option.

What's intriguing is one very popular theory among fans suggests that Crocodile may have been a woman in the past. 

This theory is based on information revealed in the Impel Down arc, where Emporio Ivankov learned a significant secret about Crocodile. 

However, what that secret actually is remains unknown.

But, given Ivankov's hormone-changing abilities, fans speculate that Ivankov may have changed Crocodile's gender from female to male at some point. 

Until now, this speculation or mystery hasn't been confirmed. 

However, the scene in the first episode of the One Piece live-action series seems to provide some information related to this fan speculation.

Eiichiro Oda is the "final gatekeeper" of the production process of this series, where everything must receive approval from Oda himself, including the appearance of the mysterious woman during Roger's execution. 

This could be interpreted as Oda confirming that Crocodile was originally a woman.
