Tokyo Revenger 2 Live Action: Actor Nijiro Murakami Joins the Movie

Wednesday January 11 Yesterday, the official website for Tokyo Revengers 2, the sequel to the live-action film adaptation of Ken Wakui's manga, published a new video introducing the three new cast members who will be joining and the film's release date.

The new players mentioned are actor Kento Nagayama who will play Keisuke Baji, Nijir Murakami as Kazutora Hanemiya, and Mahiro Takasugi as Chifuyu Matsuno. 

The three join a cast previously cast in the first live-action Tokyo Revengers film such as Takumi Kitamura as Takemichi Hanagaki, Ryo Yoshizawa as Mikey, and Yuki Yamada as Draken.

The first sequel, Chi no Halloween -Unmei (Bloody Halloween -Fate), will open on April 21, while the second, Chi no Halloween -Kessen (Bloody Halloween -Decisive Battle), will open on June 30.

This manga tells of Takemichi Hanagaki's journey back in time 12 years to save his girlfriend in middle school, 

Hinata Tachibana who was killed in an incident involving Japan's most notorious criminal group, Tokyo Manji. 

To save Hinata, he must come out of his cowardly life and must deal with the most dangerous gang leader.

The first film was released in Japan in July 2021 and became the number one live-action film in Japan that year. Before being adapted into a live-action film, 

Ken Wakui's manga first received an anime adaptation by an 8-bit studio and aired starting April 2021. 

The second season of the anime, entitled Tokyo Revengers: Christmas Showdown arc, also started airing on January 7 this year.

 Nijiro Murakami felt a lot of emotion after hearing his story. 

The actor who played Chisiya in Alice in Borderland also admitted that he was very enthusiastic about his role as Kazutora.

The film's producer, Shota Okada said, "Every time I see comments on SNS saying, 'New cast hasn't been announced yet!?', I will introduce new friends namely Baji, Ichitora, and Chifuyu, who played the core roles of Blood Halloween Arc. 

I remember when I started filming with the three of them, all my nervousness and anxiety disappeared. Anyway, please look forward to it."
