Remember Trina Vega? The hilariously overconfident older sister from Victorious who was convinced she was destined for superstardom? Well, she's back — and somehow, she's in charge of a classroom now.

Netflix has officially dropped the first teaser trailer for Hollywood Arts, the long-awaited spin-off of the beloved Nickelodeon sitcom, confirming a premiere date of October 15, 2026. And yes, millennials who grew up singing "Make It in America" are already losing their minds.

The Story: Trina Vega, Substitute Teacher

Daniella Monet reprises her role as Trina Vega, but there's a twist — instead of chasing fame on stage, she returns to her alma mater as an unqualified substitute teacher, filling in for the retired acting coach Erwin Sikowitz. Her motivations start out completely self-serving, but the show promises Trina slowly discovers an actual passion for mentoring a brand-new generation of students.

That new class includes Peyton Jackson as Qwest, a musical prodigy hiding his talent behind a basketball scholarship, plus fresh faces played by Alyssa Miles, Emmy Liu-Wang, Erika Swayze, and Martin Kamm. Fans of the original will also be thrilled that Yvette Nicole Brown is back as Principal Helen.

The first season is a massive 26 episodes, split into two parts, kicking off with a special 50-minute premiere that combines the first two parts of the pilot. After its Netflix debut, the series will also air on Nickelodeon and Paramount+ later on.

Monet is the only original cast member returning, and she's also serving as executive producer alongside creators Jake Farrow and Samantha Martin. Notably, both have confirmed that Dan Schneider, the original series creator who faced serious allegations after the Quiet on Set documentary, has zero involvement in the new production.

It's easy to see why Netflix greenlit this. When Victorious landed on the platform in 2024, it racked up a staggering 45 million views as of October 2025 — proving the 2010s Nickelodeon catalog still has serious pull. It also fits right into the current nostalgia wave alongside Disney+'s Camp Rock 3 and the Wizards of Waverly Place revival.

The original series famously ended in 2013 without a proper finale, so this spin-off feels like overdue closure for an entire generation. Whether Trina can actually teach anyone anything is debatable — but honestly, we'll be seated on October 15.
