The End of Oak Street Trailer Is Here — Anne Hathaway vs. Dinosaurs in JJ Abrams' Wildest Movie Yet

Jurassic Park Meets Your Suburban Nightmare
What do you get when you cross The Twilight Zone with Jurassic Park and a dash of A Quiet Place? Apparently, you get The End of Oak Street — the new Warner Bros. sci-fi survival thriller that's being called one of the most promising sleeper hits of summer 2026.
The final trailer just dropped (with tickets officially on sale), and it is gloriously chaotic: Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor play parents fighting to keep their family alive as dinosaurs invade their quiet suburban neighborhood after a mysterious cosmic event flips the world upside down.
The Abrams Touch
Produced by JJ Abrams' Bad Robot, the film was originally announced under the title Flowervale Street before settling on its much more ominous final name. And you can feel the Abrams DNA all over it — the suburban setting, the family at the center of an impossible event, the dread slowly building behind everyday normality. It's the kind of high-concept blockbuster pitch that made Bad Robot famous.
The new trailer leans hard into the survival horror angle: "What are we gonna do?" asks Hathaway's character. "We're gonna survive!" comes the reply. Cue stampeding dinos, overturned minivans, and the kind of practical-effects chaos that's been getting comic-book-movie levels of hype on social media.
Why It Could Be the Sleeper Hit of August
August is stacked — Insidious: Out of the Further is bringing the scares, and plenty of big studio titles are fighting for screens. But The End of Oak Street has something most of them don't: a genuinely fresh premise wrapped in a familiar, cozy-on-the-surface setting. Neighborhoods + dinosaurs is a combo Hollywood somehow hasn't beaten into the ground yet.
- Stars: Anne Hathaway, Ewan McGregor
- Studio: Warner Bros., produced by JJ Abrams' Bad Robot
- Premise: A family fights dinosaurs after a cosmic event rewrites reality
- Former title: Flowervale Street
Should You Grab Tickets?
If you're a fan of high-concept sci-fi with real stakes and a family drama at its heart, The End of Oak Street deserves a spot on your August watchlist. It's weird, it's loud, and it might just be the surprise hit of the summer.
