Shane Gillis' 'Tires' Season 3 Drops on Netflix August 13 — Why the Most Divisive Comedy on TV Is Coming Back Swinging

Tires Season 3 Netflix Shane Gillis

The Most Polarizing Comedy Returns

Love him or hate him, Shane Gillis is coming back to Netflix. Tires Season 3 officially premieres on August 13, 2026, and if you've been following the show's journey, you know this return is anything but simple. The workplace comedy set in a failing auto body shop has become one of the most talked-about — and most criticized — shows on streaming.

Co-created by Gillis, Steve Gerben, and John McKeever, Tires stars Gillis alongside Gerben, Chris O'Connor, Kilah Fox, Stavros Halkias, and Thomas Haden Church. The show follows the chaotic operations of Valley Forge Auto Repair, where Will (Gerben) tries to turn around his late father's shop while his cousin Shane (Gillis) does everything in his power to make things worse.

The Critical Disconnect Is Wild

Here's where it gets interesting. Tires holds a measly 58% on Rotten Tomatoes' Tomatometer — but its audience score tells a completely different story. Critics have called it everything from "lazy and tedious" to, in one particularly savage Pajiba review, "gutless" and "cowardly." The Los Angeles Times was equally unkind. And yet? Netflix renewed it for Season 3 less than a month after Season 2 dropped.

That's because the audience numbers don't lie. Tires consistently landed in Netflix's Top 10 during both previous seasons' runs. Gillis' massive podcast following from Matt and Shane's Secret Podcast brought an audience that traditional critics simply don't have access to. It's the same phenomenon that made his SNL firing turn into a career rocket ship rather than a cancellation.

What to Expect from Season 3

Details are being kept under wraps, but given where Season 2 left off — with the shop facing an actual corporate buyout threat — expect the stakes to be higher while the humor stays just as crude. Thomas Haden Church's character, the eccentric wealthy boss, is reportedly getting an expanded arc. And with Stavros Halkias' character increasingly becoming a fan favorite, expect more of his unhinged energy.

Season 3 of Tires hits Netflix on August 13, 2026. Whether critics like it or not, millions of people will be watching.
