Scary Movie 6 Is Finally Here — And It's Taking Shots at Everything From 'Scream' to 'The Odyssey'

The Wayans brothers are back, and they haven't lost a step. Scary Movie 6 hit theaters in May 2026 and just landed on digital, bringing the iconic parody franchise roaring back to life after a 13-year hiatus. Marlon Wayans and Shawn Wayans return as Shorty and Ray, and this time, no horror hit is safe.

The sixth installment takes aim at the entire modern horror landscape — and then some. Scream VI's New York setting gets the treatment, M3GAN's creepy doll dance is mercilessly mocked, and even Smile 2's viral grin gets flipped into a running gag. But the real surprise? The movie also takes a swing at Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, with a sequence that reimagines Matt Damon's Odysseus as a clueless dad who can't figure out Google Maps.

Who's In It? The Cast Is Stacked

Beyond the Wayans brothers, the cast includes Regina Hall returning as Brenda, alongside new faces like Keke Palmer, Pete Davidson, and Jenna Ortega — who hilariously plays a version of herself that keeps getting cast in horror movies she can't escape from. The chemistry between the old guard and the new blood is what makes this one work. Dave Sheridan even pops back in as Officer Doofy for a post-credits scene that's already going viral on TikTok.

Does It Hold Up?

Critics are split, but audiences are loving it. The film holds a 72% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, with many praising its willingness to go after everything — including Five Nights at Freddy's 2, The Black Phone 2, and the entire Conjuring universe. It's not deep, but it doesn't need to be. Sometimes you just want to watch Pete Davidson get chased by a possessed Roomba while Marlon Wayans screams in falsetto.

If you missed it in theaters, Scary Movie 6 is now available on digital platforms including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Vudu. Perfect for a Friday night when your brain needs a break from prestige TV.
