Netflix Just Killed Your Favorites: The Lincoln Lawyer, The Night Agent, and 14 More Shows Ending in 2026
Netflix Is Saying Goodbye to a Lot of Beloved Shows — Here is the Full List
If you have been binge-watching on Netflix lately, you might want to hold on a little tighter. The streaming giant has confirmed that 2026 is shaping up to be one of its most aggressive purge years yet, with at least 16 shows either canceled or wrapping up for good. Some are going out on their own terms. Others? Netflix just pulled the plug.
From legal dramas to animated sci-fi to Meghan Markle lifestyle series, here is everything leaving Netflix this year and what it means for your watchlist.
The Heavy Hitters: Fan Favorites Getting Final Seasons
The Lincoln Lawyer is probably the biggest name on the chopping block. Starring Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as defense attorney Mickey Haller, the show has been one of Netflix most-watched originals since it premiered in 2022. The series is ending with Season 5, which is currently in production in Los Angeles. Netflix made the call just a week before Season 4 dropped in February 2026.
Then there is The Night Agent, the action-thriller that made Gabriel Basso a household name. The series, which follows FBI agent Peter Sutherland through a web of government conspiracies, is also getting the boot. Despite strong viewership numbers in its first two seasons, Netflix decided not to renew it beyond its upcoming final chapter.
The Abandons, the gritty family drama starring Riley Keough, was outright canceled. Similarly, Terminator Zero, the animated series that brought the iconic franchise back to the screen, did not survive the streaming bloodbath despite a promising first season.
Surprising Exits and the Meghan Markle Factor
One of the more eyebrow-raising departures is With Love, Meghan, Meghan Markle cooking and lifestyle series on Netflix. The show, which features the Duchess of Sussex sharing recipes and home tips, is reportedly ending after just one season.
Other notable shows wrapping up in 2026 include Outer Banks, the teen adventure series that built a massive Gen Z following, Shadow and Bone, the fantasy epic based on Leigh Bardugo novels, and Ginny and Georgia, the mother-daughter dramedy that consistently pulled strong numbers.
Why Is Netflix Cutting So Much?
The answer comes down to money. Under CEO Ted Sarandos and co-CEO Greg Peters, Netflix has shifted its strategy from more content equals more subscribers to the right content equals better margins. Shows that are expensive to produce but do not generate proportional engagement are getting axed.
This pattern mirrors what we have seen at Disney+, HBO Max, and Amazon Prime Video. The entire streaming industry is tightening its belt. With the Paramount-Warner Bros. merger reshaping the studio landscape, expect even more consolidation ahead.
The Bottom Line
If you have been putting off finishing The Lincoln Lawyer Season 4 or starting The Night Agent Season 2, now is the time. Netflix is not known for reversing cancellations. At least the streamer is giving some of them proper finales.
