All of Us Are Dead Season 2 Sets Netflix Record — But Not the Good Kind (5-Year Wait Confirmed)
All of Us Are Dead Season 2 Breaks a Netflix K-Drama Record
If you've been waiting for All of Us Are Dead Season 2, buckle up — because the wait is about to get even longer. The hit Korean zombie series, which premiered on Netflix in January 2022 to massive global success, has officially set a record that nobody wanted: the longest gap between seasons for a K-drama on the platform.
Principal photography wrapped on February 18, 2026, but the season was notably excluded from Netflix's 2026 K-drama lineup. That means fans are looking at a five-year gap between Season 1 and Season 2 — with a premiere now expected in early 2027 at the earliest.
What Happened to the Production?
The road to Season 2 has been anything but smooth. Originally, Film Monster CEO Park Chul-soo announced filming would begin in 2024 with a late 2025 release. Netflix then pushed the schedule to 2025 for what they called "a better production environment and higher-quality completion."
When filming finally started on July 23, 2025, the cast included returning stars Park Ji-hu (Nam On-jo), Lee Min-jae, Kim Si-eun, Seo Ji-hoon, Yoon Ga-i, Kim Min, Ahn Dong-goo, and newcomer Ryu Sung-rok. The production wrapped in February 2026 — but then, silence.
What to Expect from Season 2
The good news? The extended production time reportedly means a much bigger, more ambitious season. Unlike Season 1, which was largely confined to Hyosan High School, Season 2 will expand into the open world of Seoul. Fans can finally learn what happened to the "halfbies" — those half-zombie, half-human hybrids who were wandering the school at the end of the first season.
For context, most K-dramas release within a year of wrapping. Even Squid Game, despite its unprecedented global success, returned within three years. A five-year gap is genuinely unprecedented on Netflix.
The verdict: The zombies are patient. Are you?
