Wednesday Season 2 Part 1 Is Streaming Now — Here's When Lady Gaga Shows Up in Part 2

Wednesday Addams is back in black. Netflix dropped the first half of Wednesday Season 2 on August 6, and all four episodes of Part 1 are now streaming — with Part 2 arriving September 3 to close out the eight-episode season. Jenna Ortega returns as the famously prickly, razor-witted Wednesday, and this season the Addams family comes to school. Joanna Lumley (Absolutely Fabulous) joins the cast as Grandmama, aka Hester Frump — Morticia's formidable mother and one of the few people who can make Wednesday smile. And the biggest get of all arrives in Part 2: Lady Gaga is slated to appear as a Nevermore Academy teacher. Sadly, Part 1 is completely Gaga-less, so you'll have to wait until September 3 for her gothic debut.

Fan favorites are all back too: Emma Myers as sunny werewolf roommate Enid Sinclair, Joy Sunday as siren queen Bianca Barclay, Moosa Mustafa as Eugene Ottinger, and the ever-helpful Thing. The world premiere in London brought out Ortega, Zeta-Jones, Guzmán, and the whole cast on the purple carpet — and the season's expanded Addams family ensemble is clearly the selling point this year.

Early reviews are largely positive but honest about the shift. Critics praise Ortega's deadpan delivery and the gothic production design, but several note Part 1 lacks the surprise factor that made Season 1 a phenomenon. IndieWire calls it a mystery that gets "(N)evermore personal," while Den of Geek insists there's no sophomore slump in sight. The consensus: Part 1 is a solid setup, and Part 2 — with Lady Gaga and the fallout of that eyeball reveal — is where the season could really land.
