Ready or Not 2: Here I Come — Samara Weaving Returns in 2026's Most Brutal Horror Sequel

Ready or Not 2 2026 horror movie Samara Weaving

The Bride Is Back — And She's Not Playing Games Anymore

In 2019, Ready or Not became an instant horror classic — a bloody, darkly comedic thriller about a new bride forced to survive a deadly game of hide-and-seek with her wealthy, satanic in-laws. The film made Samara Weaving a star and earned over $57 million on a $6 million budget. Now, seven years later, Ready or Not 2: Here I Come has arrived on Hulu — and it's somehow even more unhinged than the original.

Directed by the returning duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (who also helmed Scream 2022 and Scream VI), the sequel picks up with Grace (Samara Weaving) years after the events of the first film. She's rebuilt her life, changed her identity, and is living quietly in a small coastal town — until the surviving members of the Le Domas family track her down, believing her blood is the key to resurrecting their shattered fortune.

Bigger, Bloodier, and Darker

Ready or Not 2 doesn't just rehash the first film's formula. While the original was a confined cat-and-mouse thriller set in a single mansion, the sequel expands the playing field to an entire island — think The Most Dangerous Game meets Knives Out. The film introduces new characters including Adam Brody as a charming but suspicious local sheriff and Jenna Ortega in a scene-stealing cameo as a hitchhiker who gets caught in the crossfire.

The kills are more creative, the humor is pitch-black, and Weaving once again proves she's one of the best scream queens working today. US Magazine named it one of the best movies on Hulu right now, and the critical response has been strong — currently sitting at 87% on Rotten Tomatoes.

For horror fans who've been waiting for a worthy follow-up, Ready or Not 2 delivers the bloody goods. Streaming exclusively on Hulu.
