One Piece: Why Did York Want to Become a Celestial Dragon?

One Piece: Why Did York Want to Become a Celestial Dragon?

York's reason for wanting to become part of the celestial dragon clan is still a big mystery.

Big surprises are shown in the latest chapter of One Piece manga, where one of them is how York wants to be a part of the sky dragons.

This was completely beyond the expectations of the fans. Chapter 1078 of the manga One Piece finally reveals who York really is.

In that chapter, it is finally revealed that York is a traitor in the Vegapunk camp.

York who took Shaka's life and also destroyed Edison and Pythagoras' bodies.

What's interesting is that at the end of the chapter it was revealed that one of York's motivations for doing this was to become part of the sky dragon.

Why then did York want to become a celestial dragon?

The Embodiment of the Greatest Desire

One Piece: Why Did York Want to Become a Celestial Dragon?

In chapter 1078, York finally meets the real Stella or Vegapunk.

It is during this conversation that we finally find out that York deliberately did the terrible things that happened at Egghead because one of the reasons was that York wanted to be part of the celestial dragon clan.
Vegapunk himself had asked why she wanted to become a sky dragon.

Vegapunk then explains that they are not good people. The celestial dragons are terrible and evil people.

This statement appeared after Vegapunk and his other satellites went to Mary Geoise and met them.

It is possible that this visit also gave rise to York's desire to become a celestial dragon.

As geeks know, York is a representative of one of the traits, namely "Desire" or "Desire".

The visit was probably what triggered York to bring out his deepest desire to become a celestial dragon.

York might see how they live in luxury, are under guard, live in an exclusive area, and of course they have power.

As an embodiment of the nature of desire, it makes sense that then York would have a desire to be able to live with or be equal to them.

Because of that, York also tried in every way to be able to make his wish come true.

York doesn't even care about the negative words and stigma from people regarding the sky dragons.

Because, it has already appeared in him.

York Wants to Rule the World

One Piece: Why Did York Want to Become a Celestial Dragon?

Regarding York, which is the embodiment of the nature of desire, it could also be that York has an agenda or goals that we don't know about.

In the previous article, it was explained that one of York's clues as a traitor appeared in chapter 1061.

In that chapter, Lillith said that the desires of living things are difficult to control.

This is also what might happen to York, especially since York is the embodiment of the nature of desire.

On the other hand, we can see other clues in the conversation between York and the original Vegapunk in chapter 1078.

Apart from having the desire to become a celestial dragon, York also has the desire to be the only Vegapunk in the world of One Piece.

It was this desire that made York finally have the heart to get rid of all Vegapunk satellites one by one and also finish off the original Vegapunk.

According to him, the world doesn't need a lot of Vegapunk. The world only needs one Vegapunk.

From these various clues, we can speculate if York has its own agenda.

What is York's agenda or goals? Judging by the clues, it's likely that York's goals have nothing to do with world domination. In this case, York might want to rule the world.

As mentioned above, York's desire is indeed quite reasonable.

The desire to rule or be the strongest, as shown by York, is a manifestation of human desires in general.

However, it could also be that York has other desires or goals which might be revealed in the coming chapters.

Gorosei Support

One Piece: Why Did York Want to Become a Celestial Dragon?

Although there has been no confirmation regarding this, it is possible that York's desire to become a celestial dragon is supported by the Gorosei.

What does it mean? How did it happen?

In chapter 1078 it is known that a mysterious figure contacted the Gorosei about Vegapunk doing research on the Age of Void.

This is the reason why they are after Vegapunk's life.

Even though it is not known who this mysterious figure is, from what was revealed in chapter 1078 it can be concluded that York might have contacted the Gorosei.

So, what does this have to do with York's wishes?

It could be, there is an agreement that emerged between York and also the Gorosei.

In this case, York revealed what Vegapunk was doing.

Instead, York was then accepted to be part of the celestial dragon clan.

This wish or agreement is likely to be accepted by the Gorosei, where previously Vegapunk needed to be removed first.

Only after that, York will receive a "reward" for what she did.

In fact, it's not impossible that the Gorosei promised something else extraordinary to York that made her want to betray everything.
