Jujutsu Kaisen: 5 Proofs of Yuji Itadori as a True Hero

Jujutsu Kaisen: 5 Proofs of Yuji Itadori as a True Hero

Yuji Itadori is the main protagonist anime character in the Jujutsu Kaisen series.

He is the son of Jin Itadori and the grandson of Wasuke Itadori who lives a normal life.

However, all that changed when he met Megumi Fushigoro.

Since then, he started attending Tokyo Jujutsu High.

As a protagonist, Yuji is destined to become a hero in the Jujutsu Kaisen series.

Even so, he deserves to be called a hero.

Over the course of the series, there have been several demonstrations of Yuji Itadori as a true hero.

1. Swallows Sukuna's finger to save Megumi Fushigoro

Universally, shounen protagonists are known for their unwavering self-sacrifice, and so does Yuji Itadori.

He swallowed Sukuna's finger to save Megumi Fushigoro, a figure he had just met on the same day.

He had just met Megumi, but he didn't hesitate to put his own life in danger.

Yuji understands that this decision could burden him later.

However, he still didn't care. He will do anything to help people who need help.

So, he did that so he could protect Megumi.

He might have committed a reckless act, but that was what a hero would do.

2. Not stopping against Mahito even though he is seriously injured

After Yuji Itadori saw Mahito who had killed Junpei Yoshino, a surge of anger immediately overtook him.

He didn't care even though there were many gaping body wounds from Mahito's stab.

He still struggles to continue fighting Mahito who killed his friend.

Moments later, Yuji receives criticism from Nanami who is horrified by the injuries on her body.

He was also scolded by Nanami because he always focused on other people and did not prioritize his physical health.

However, he ignored Nanami and continued to attack Mahito.

It was here, he proved his fighting spirit as a hero.

3. Regretted swallowing Sukuna's finger when he was vulnerable

Most people hope that shounen heroes don't regret every decision they make and always face the consequences.

However, Yuji Itadori doesn't always show how strong he is.

She proves that it's okay to show fear, doubt, even despair during difficult times.

During Yuji's fight against the Finger Bearer in the Scary Womb arc, he briefly cried and expressed regret for swallowing Sukuna's finger.

He wished that he had never done so when he saw the blood flowing from his severed hand.

However, he still let Sukuna take over.

He may have his vulnerable moments, but he doesn't lose sight of the task at hand.

4. Apologize to Eso before killing

The fight between Yuji Itadori and his ally, Nobara Kugisaki, against Eso and Kechizu is the most epic fight in the Jujutsu Kaisen series.

He was shaken when he found out that Eso and Kechizu weren't ordinary cursed spirits, but flesh and blood so they were closer to humans.

In addition, Yuji found it even more difficult to finish off Eso when he saw Eso crying over Kechizu who had lost badly.

However, he had to finish the job.

He sympathized with Eso, even apologizing before killing Eso.

Without realizing it, he's showing that he's a loving person, but he doesn't let his emotions take over.

5. Friends with Junpei Yoshino

Yuji Itadori befriends Junpei Yoshino when he is supposed to investigate Junpei regarding Mahito's attack on the cinema.

From there, he learned that Junpei's mother had died, and even Junpei received bullying at school which made Junpei want to use cursed energy for revenge.

Luckily, Yuji approached Junpei before things got complicated.

She admits that she doesn't understand Junpei's motives, but she validates Junpei's feelings and suffering.

He also asked Junpei to attend Tokyo Jujutsu High.

He didn't judge Junpei just like that.

He realized that Junpei needed someone who would listen.

Those are some of Yuji Itadori's proofs as a true hero in the Jujutsu Kaisen series.

Even though he was still very young, there was maturity in every action he took.

He also dared to fight the fear that arose in his heart, even able to control the emotions he had.
