Wednesday Season 2 Part 2 Dominates Netflix — Jenna Ortega, Lady Gaga and Tim Burton Deliver the Year's Biggest Series

Wednesday is officially unstoppable. Part 2 of Wednesday Season 2 dropped on Netflix on September 3, 2026, completing the eight-episode saga — and within days the series reclaimed the No. 1 spot on the Netflix Global Top 10, outpacing heavy-hitters like Stranger Things (ahead of its final season), Squid Game, and Bridgerton Season 4. For millennials who grew up on The Addams Family, this gothic phenomenon is the streaming event of the fall.

Jenna Ortega returns as Wednesday Addams, colder, sharper, and funnier than ever. Now also a producer on the show, Ortega shapes the season's darker tone — and critics agree it is her best performance yet. Opposite her, Emma Myers shines again as the endlessly lovable werewolf Enid Sinclair, while Catherine Zeta-Jones (Morticia) and Luis Guzman (Gomez) get far meatier storylines, including a long-buried Addams family secret.

The headline addition is Lady Gaga, who joins the cast as Rosaline Rotwood, the legendary Nevermore teacher. Series creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar wrote the role specifically for her, and director Tim Burton — back behind the camera for four episodes — called her scenes some of the most electric the show has ever filmed. Gaga also contributes the original song The Dead Dance, which has already gone viral on TikTok with over 500 million views.

New faces also include Steve Buscemi as Nevermore's menacing new principal Barry Dort, Billie Piper as music teacher Isadora Capri, Evie Templeton as the mysterious Agnes DeMille, and Christopher Lloyd — the original Uncle Fester from the 1990s Addams Family films — in a surprise guest role that had fans screaming. Returning favorites Hunter Doohan (Tyler Galpin), Joy Sunday (Bianca), and Georgie Farmer (Ajax) round out the Nevermore chaos.

What makes Season 2 special is scale. Filmed in Ireland with Burton's signature gothic flair, the season leans into horror — a Hyde on the loose, a murder of crows, a gala-night massacre — while keeping the deadpan comedy that made Season 1 Netflix's most-watched English-language series ever with over 252 million views. Early reviews praise the season as darker and more cinematic, with Rotten Tomatoes scores sitting comfortably in the 80s.

The timing could not be better. With HBO's Harry Potter series not arriving until late 2026, Stranger Things Season 5 set for the holidays, and Disney+ pushing The Mandalorian & Grogu, Wednesday has owned September with zero real competition. Netflix has already confirmed development on Wednesday Season 3, plus a rumored Uncle Fester spinoff starring Fred Armisen — proof the Addams universe is just getting started.
