Enola Holmes 3 Trailer Just Dropped — Millie Bobby Brown Is a Runaway Bride Hunting for Sherlock

Netflix Just Set July on Fire
Netflix dropped the official trailer for Enola Holmes 3 on June 9, 2026, and the internet is already treating it like a national holiday. Millie Bobby Brown returns as the whip-smart younger sister of Sherlock Holmes, played by Henry Cavill, but this time she is juggling two massive problems at once. She is supposed to marry Lord Tewkesbury, played by Louis Partridge, and then suddenly Sherlock goes missing. So naturally, she bails on her own wedding and heads to Malta to find him. Classic Enola behavior, honestly.
The film premieres on Netflix on July 1, 2026, which gives us exactly two weeks to rewatch the first two movies and pretend we totally saw this plot twist coming.
Wedding Drama Meets Malta Mystery
Here is what makes this trailer different from the first two installments. The stakes feel genuinely personal. In Enola Holmes (2020), we got a fun origin story about a teenage girl outsmarting an entire Victorian establishment. In Enola Holmes 2 (2022), she solved the matchgirls case while dealing with her own impostor syndrome. Both were solid Netflix originals that quietly outperformed nearly everything else on the platform that year.
But Enola Holmes 3 is asking a sharper question: can Enola build a life with someone she loves without sacrificing who she is? The trailer literally opens with her in a horse-drawn carriage wearing a wedding dress, looking completely panicked. Then Sherlock disappears. And she chooses the case, again. It is a bold narrative choice, and it lands.
Malta Looks Absolutely Incredible
The Malta sequences are the visual highlight of the trailer. Cobblestone streets, harbor chases, and what looks like a genuinely tense confrontation on a rooftop. The first two films were mostly London interiors, pretty but a little stage-bound. Malta gives the franchise its first real sense of scale, and it works.
Helen McCrory does not appear in this installment, which remains a quiet loss for the series. Her performance as Eudoria Holmes in the earlier films was one of the best things about them.
A New Director, Same Energy
Director Philip Barantini takes over the franchise here, and it is a fascinating choice. Barantini is best known for Boiling Point and the Emmy-winning Adolescence, both intense, real-time, single-take style productions. He has never directed a big-budget Netflix period action film before. Either this is a masterstroke or a very expensive gamble.
Based on the trailer, it looks like a masterstroke. The pacing is tighter, the action feels grounded, and Brown brings a more mature edge to Enola that the previous films were only hinting at. This also marks one of Brown biggest projects since Stranger Things wrapped its final season, and she does not waste a single frame.
For context, Netflix is also preparing to launch Greta Gerwig Chronicles of Narnia reboot later this year, and The Night Agent Season 3 is already tracking as one of the most anticipated series drops of late 2026. But Enola Holmes 3 might be the one that wins July.
Bottom Line
Mark July 1 on your calendar. Enola Holmes 3 has everything you want, Millie Bobby Brown, Henry Cavill, Louis Partridge, a gorgeous Malta setting, a runaway bride storyline, and a mystery that actually matters to the hero. Netflix has a winner here.
