Emma Corrin is about to take on one of literature's most iconic roles and honestly it might be the most daunting challenge of their career. After winning a Golden Globe and Critics Choice Award for playing Princess Diana in Season 4 of The Crown Corrin is now stepping into Elizabeth Bennet's shoes for Netflix's highly anticipated Pride and Prejudice series.

More Than Just a Period Drama

Corrin 30 has been remarkably candid about feeling daunted by the prospect. They recently became Variety's first nonbinary Power of Women cover star and the conversation about identity representation and the pressure of iconic roles was front and center.

It does not have to be women celebrating the power of women it can be women queer nonbinary people celebrating the power of women Corrin said. That kind of frankness is part of what makes Corrin such a compelling figure in modern entertainment.

A Career That Keeps Surprising

The trajectory is remarkable. Corrin went from playing Diana with such uncanny emotional depth that it earned two major awards to becoming a Miu Miu ambassador to playing a Marvel villain and now Elizabeth Bennet. Each role feels like a deliberate step away from being typecast.

The Pride and Prejudice adaptation joins a long line of interpretations from Keira Knightley's beloved 2005 film to the 1995 Colin Firth BBC miniseries that defined a generation's understanding of Mr. Darcy.
