Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 Is Almost Here — and the Trailer Looks Insane

If you're one of the millions who binged Netflix's live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender back in February 2024, mark your calendar — Season 2 drops on June 25, 2026, and Netflix just dropped a trailer that has fans losing their collective minds. The Earth Kingdom is coming, Toph is finally here, and Azula is about to make everyone's life significantly more complicated.

Toph Beifong Makes Her Live-Action Debut

The biggest news from the Season 2 trailer? Miyako (House of the Dragon, known professionally as Miya Cech) steps into the role of Toph Beifong — the blind earthbending prodigy who became one of the most beloved characters in the original animated series. Seeing Toph finally introduced in live-action is a massive milestone for the show, and early reactions suggest the casting nails the stubborn, tough-as-nails energy fans expected.

The trailer shows Toph serving as Aang's earthbending mentor, setting up what should be one of the most dynamic relationships in Season 2. Alongside her, Gordon Cormier returns as Aang, Kiawentiio as Katara, and Ian Ousley as Sokka — the core gaang that carried Season 1 into this next chapter.

The Earth Kingdom, Azula, and a Stacked New Cast

Season 2 picks up after Aang, Katara, and Sokka's bittersweet victory defending the Northern Water Tribe from the Fire Nation's invasion. Now the trio heads into Earth Kingdom territory on a mission to convince the elusive Earth King Kuei (played by Justin Chien) to join their fight against Fire Lord Ozai (Daniel Dae Kim).

But the real wildcard? Elizabeth Yu returns as Azula — and if the original animated series taught us anything, Azula is the kind of villain who steals every scene she's in. She's joined by Dallas Liu as Crown Prince Zuko, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as Uncle Iroh, and Maria Zhang as Suki.

New additions round out an already stacked roster: Chin Han as the scheming Long Feng, Crystal Yu as Lady Beifong, Amanda Zhou as Joo Dee, Kelemete Misipeka as The Boulder, and Rekha Sharma as Amita.

Behind the camera, Christine Boylan (Poker Face) writes Season 2, with Jabbar Raisani, Anu Menon, Amit Gupta, and Hiromi Kamata directing. Albert Kim returns as executive producer alongside Boylan, Raisani, Dan Lin, Ryan Halprin, and Brendan Ferguson.

Netflix's live-action Avatar has had a bumpy road since its 2024 debut, but the Season 2 trailer suggests the show is hitting its stride. With Toph finally in the mix, the Earth Kingdom storyline unfolding, and Azula waiting in the shadows, June 25 can't come soon enough. Who else is counting down the days?
