D23 2026 Delivered the Biggest Disney Showcase in Years

Disney fans, buckle up — D23 2026 just happened, and it was an absolute feast. The Disney Entertainment Showcase at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California on August 14 dropped a whopping 21 movie and TV announcements spanning from late 2026 all the way to 2029. From Marvel's X-Men reboot cast to new Pixar and Disney Animation sequels, here's everything you need to know.

Marvel Went All In: X-Men Cast, Avengers Doomsday, and VisionQuest

The biggest bombshell? The X-Men reboot cast has been officially announced. Kevin Feige revealed that Sadie Sink will play Jean Grey, Kit Connor is Cyclops, Christopher Abbott takes on Professor Charles Xavier, and Adam Driver plays villain Mister Sinister. The film, directed by Jake Schreier, hits theaters May 5, 2028.

But that wasn't all Marvel had up its sleeve. New footage from Avengers: Doomsday showed Robert Downey Jr. transforming from Tony Stark into Victor von Doom. Chris Evans and Hayley Atwell joined Feige on stage, and the footage teased Doctor Doom confronting Pedro Pascal's Mister Fantastic. Avengers: Doomsday arrives December 18, 2026, with Avengers: Secret Wars following on December 17, 2027.

Marvel also announced VisionQuest, a Disney+ series with Paul Bettany returning as Vision and James Spader reprising Ultron. It premieres October 14, 2026.

Frozen 3, Incredibles 3, and a Whole Lot of Sequels

Disney Animation brought the nostalgia hard. Frozen 3 is officially happening — Kristen Bell confirmed that Anna will finally marry Kristoff, and there's a new love interest for Olaf named Samantha. The film drops November 24, 2027.

Zootopia 3 is in development (Zootopia 2 already made $1.86 billion worldwide), and Coco 2 is confirmed with Benjamin Bratt returning as Ernesto de la Cruz for a November 2029 release.

Pixar isn't sitting out either — The Incredibles 3 focuses on Violet and Dash trying to prove themselves as superheroes, with Craig T. Nelson returning as Bob Parr. It arrives June 2028. Pixar also announced Gatto, set in Venice with Mark Ruffalo voicing a street-smart black cat (March 2027), and Ghost Market, a Hawaii-set ghost story (2028).

Star Wars, Disney+ Series, and Live-Action Surprises

Ahsoka Season 2 got a teaser trailer and premieres January 20, 2027 on Disney+. Ryan Gosling and director Shawn Levy showcased Star Wars: Starfighter, exploring a new corner of the galaxy for 2027.

Disney+ is getting a Kingdom Hearts anime series created with Tetsuya Nomura, plus Percy Jackson Season 3 adapting The Titan's Curse with Ming-Na Wen joining as Hera (November 20, 2026).

Live-action updates include Tangled with Teagan Croft as Rapunzel (March 2028), Lilo & Stitch 2 following the $1 billion original (May 2028), and The Princess Diaries 3 with Anne Hathaway confirmed. Plus The Bluey Movie (August 2027) and Jodie Foster in Disney's animated film Hexed (November 2026).
